Failed creating socket

I get the following message when i try to deploy:

the base and receiver are both running OD SP2, Patch 1264 and JRE 1.3.1_06. ANy ideas from anyone?

Is there a firewall between OD base and receiver ?
You can try this to check connection:
From the Base server, run : "telent <OD_RECEIVER> 20014".
If the base server is able to open connection, you should not get any error message.

I think just stop & start OD at the receiver end, should work.

Well... if you are trying to run an SSL enabled deployment and there might be something wrong with the configuration (maybe one of the parameters does not match, etc). Make sure you verify all of the paths to the SSL keys, etc. Make sure that if ssl is enabled on one end that it is also enabled on the other.
