Export to Excel NO master page information

We have reports that have heading information that is on the Master Page - so that it is displayed on all pages of the report. When we Export the report to Excel that information is not exported. All other output formats have this information.

Here is a sample of information that would be on the Master page:

Company name

INCOME STATEMENT

As Of December 31, 2008

Object Code Detail-Include PY and Budget

Report Date: Mar 13, 2009 7:26 AM

The information on the Master Page should be there, but only if you print the worksheet. Can you got to File --> Print Preview inside Excel? The header and footer information should be present at that point.

Just checked and the info is not there. Any other ideas?

Is your Excel output opening embedded in a browser or in the stand-alone Excel client?

I just opened two different reports output to Excel and saw the header and footer when I viewed from the full version of Excel. It was not there when the Excel workbook was embedded in the browser.

Stand along Excel. I am running BIRT 2.3 and Excel 2007. What versions are you using?

I just tried it with 2.3.1 (something we do not have in production yet) and the information is there, but has my HTML tags in the output.
So 2.3.1 seems to be one step closer.

Should this be reported as a bug? The HTML tags are not displayed in Word or PDF output.

Sounds like it. Let me embed some HTML in my sample report and test it out. If I can show the same behavior I will create the bug and update this thread.
