Actuate iServer Hanging at end of Install
mikec
I'm having trouble installing the latest actuate iserver express (trial license) on Windows XP. The installation is hanging at "Registering Actuate iServer" at the very end of the install. We do have a proxy server at our workplace is this hanging because the installer is trying to register the trial license possibly?

It should not be trying to register the trial.
Are you attempting to install version 10, or the beta version of 10 SP1? Also, for clarification, is this XP Pro?
Did you install using your account on XP, or did you use the local system account?
I'm assuming at some point you have killed the hung process. Do you have the Actuate iServer 10 listed in your Windows Services? If so, what happens when you attempt to start it?

I installed using my local user account (who is an admin on this system) with Actuate 10.0 on Windows XP Pro. Your question got me thinking so I reinstalled with the local system account set this time instead of trying to user my locale user account for the service. That worked fine, and then I just switched the service to user my local user account.
To answer your other question. No shortcuts were showing up nor did the service exist after I killed the hung install.
