Visual Annote - same reviewer/content-contributor
rijagu
Hi,
I have a workflow which we call publishing workflow which uses two nested workflows called author workflow and review workflow.
When the publishing workflows start, the creator of the workflow attachs a HTML to the workflow. The publishing workflow then begins the nested author workflow
In the Nested Author Workflow
creator assign the work to one author, author on completion of the work, send it back to creator. Creator review it using Visual Annoate and can approve or reject it. The HTML goes through various review cycles. This works fine with Visual Annotate till here.
After the Nested Author Workflow gets over, the nested review workflow starts.
In this creator assign the HTML to the reviewer to review it using Visual Annotate. Reviewer sends the HTML back to Creator. Creator modifies the HTML and send it back to reviewer. Hence in this workflow the Creator is acting as a content contributor. The real issue now is that in this Nested Review Workflow, Creator is not able to see the annotation done by the Reviewer. What he see is the annotation he himself did in the Nested Author Workflow.
This situation arises only when the creator/author/reviewer use the webdesk/workflow to access the HTML. If Visual Annotate Emails are used to review the annotation, everything works just fine.
I find it strange, but could not understand any reason why this should be happening.
Thanks

The main limitation of using the Webdesk (SCE) interface to review with VisualAnnotate (vs. accessing VA via email links) lies in the fact that the email links explicitly encode the task ID with which the file is associated and the SCE link does not. This often means that if a user is both a Content Contributor and a Reviewer and has 2 active tasks containing the same file (one "author" task and one "review" task), VisualAnnotate might pick the wrong task when entering "Review" mode.
Recommendation: If you have a workflow where a single user can be both the Content Contributor and a Reviewer, use the email links!
