Error Attaching Existing File To Task
lcarr
TeamSite 5.5.2 SP2 on Windows 2000.
In my workflow a usertask is assigned to an individual teamsite user. After this user starts the task from the To Do list, I would like to create a new DCR (by selecting Task Operation - New Data Record from the Task Details window). Then, I would like to attach the newly created DCR to the task by selecting Add Existing File for the Task Operation menu in the Task Details window. When I try this I get an error in the Task Details window:"Error adding file '\templatedata\article\detail\data\sdfgsdfgsdf': Object is being reserved by someone else". I can attach other files, but not the newly created DCR. Is this expected behavior?

Just a thought, but are you sure that the new dcr is not being attached to the workflow automatically (as in does it show up in the list of files attached to the task after you edit the new dcr)?

Well, I would first try uninstalling SP2...word is that it will be "re"released with a new install. We had trouble with attaching files to workflow, then after uninstalling it worked fine. Something to try.

The file does not get attached automatically. I get an error dialog when I 'save & close' the DCR. The message states that the file could not be attached to the task. I'm guessing here, but maybe because the file is locked - even though it is locked by the task owner. When I unlocked the file and then tried to attach, it worked.
Interesting info about SP2. Any word on a date for re-release?

Here is the direct quote
"We are aware of some known issues with TS 5.5.2 SP2 and therefore, we are recommending not to install SP2 for now. TS 5.5.2 SP2 is being repackaged and will be made available shortly. "

The re-packaged TeamSite 5.5.2 SP2 is for
Solaris only
. This re-release was done to address a server name resolution problem experienced by some customers. If you have this problem, you would know it! It does not effect the workflow system independently.
Please contact Interwoven Support if you think you have a bug.

I guess someone better inform your support staff of this...They are aware of our platform and still informed us of the repackaging. We have already reported our bug. There is always a gap between support and development....some larger than others.
