Encyclopedia audit reporting

Hi, 
 
We are currently trying to develop some basic audit reports from our Reporting / iServer Express reporting bundle. I found the example listed here:

and this is a great walkthrough, so I wanted to to adapt this to our own data, but I get an error trying to create a new data set. 
 
Attached is a complete walkthrough (in a word document) of how I am setting up my data source and data set. 
 
*** the attached file is a Word document, but it was 200K so you have to put a .doc extension to see it in word. 
 
Any help is appreciated.

Are you able to run sample report (BIRTReporting.rptdesign) and see some meaningful data in the report output?

Interesting that you ask me that question - I'm not. I get a message "Report generation failed. Cause: Cannot get the result set metadata."

If I try to edit the data sets in the sample report I get a java.lang.NullPointerException error.

Is there something up w/ my configuration?

Where did you download the example from? If you open up the BIRTReporting.jar does the package for WebServiceDriver.class contain Actuate9 or Actuate10? 
 
The version 10 package for the is included in the iServer Integration Technology package available from here:

I downloaded the file you linked to and it's different - so I will uninstall my old version and reinstall this newer version.

I want to know how much big report can be generated using BIRT? 
 
This is in terms of performance. It my hang up or corrupt the report because of that huge size. Just want to know what that limit can be..

The report size limitation will be based on the amount of memory and disk space available to the application. There is nothing built into BIRT to limit the amount of data or report size.

When generating large reports, you should use separate run and render tasks to improve performance. Very large reports are also best run in the background without the user having to wait for report generation and rendering.

Please let them know what iHub version (3.0, 3.1 or 3.1.1) and what OS you are using.
