Java Long Datatype

Hello,
Today i started learning and using birt, but i have a problem with java data type long.
Our program uses the long data type for identification so it must be mapped to our mysql database. But birt doesn´t have this datatype built in.
How do i expand birt so it does?.

Currently i´m using version 2.3.2 of birt and the querys are in sql sintax.
