Xpath and Birt?

Hello,

i want to use a xpath query for my datasource xml, but it doesn't work. The query runs good with oXygen but not with Birt. Why? is xpath limited in Birt?

My xpath query is:
//record[donne[@nom='U1']/text()='CASE']/donne

Can you help me please?

The XPath parser in BIRT can be a bit strict. In looking at your syntax, it looks like you may be hitting some sort of od recursion. Not having seen your XML, I cannot know for sure.

This looks to me like you are looking for donne nodes that are children of other donne nodes exhibiting an attribute of nom equaling 'U1' and an innertext of 'CASE'. Is this correct? 
 
Can you post your XML and highlight the value(s) you are targeting with your data source? Then i can get a better idea how to craft a bit of BIRT-friendly syntax.

No it isn't. I want all the donne nodes of the record node where there is the donne node who has the attribute nom equaling U1, with the innertext equaling CASE. 
 
My datasource:

So for example, I want the dataset with all the donne nodes who have the brother donne node equaling CASE for the attribute nom equaling U1. I hope to get: 
 
nom - data

U0 - data0 
U1 - CASE 
U2 - data2 
...

I think my query is good because in oXygen it runs good. Also, Birt doesn't indicate my query's wrong, just not return results.

I did some work trying to make this filter work and send you back a working sample and I too had trouble. I slightly tightened up your XPath statement, but had no luck getting the row-level filter to return the correct rows. 
 
The XPath I used looked like this: 
<pre class='_prettyXprint _lang-auto _linenums:0'>/root/record[donne[@nom='U1']=' CASE ']/donne</pre>
 
This XPath tested out fine in several validators. 
 
I think one of the main issues is that BIRT attempts to flatten XML at runtime because it is trying to assemble a flat (table-style) view of inherently hierarchical information. It is a conflict that can be difficult to overcome at times. The need to grab sibling nodes is most problematic in this model as I am sure you can imagine. 
 
That being said, I filed an issue with the BIRT engineering team to get their thoughts. You can track the issue here:
