Problem with Quick Start Application

Hi,

I am trying to replicate the same Quick start project on my m/c. I followed all the instruction mentioned in
'http://www.birt-exchange.com/wiki/Actuate_Mashboard_Installation/'

after doing this I used following link to test -
''http://myDevServer:8900/iportal/mashboard.do?project=QuickStart''

Pages gets pop up and when I am passing username as administrator it gives me an error -
'QuickStart Mashup Project Configuration does not exist. or you do not have permissions'

Pls do let me know what am I Missing?

Did you upload your configuration files (QuickStart_default.mashconfig and mashboard.projectconfig) to /Resources/mashboard/QuickStart? 
 
After doing that you need to ensure that the folders you created (mashboard and QuickStart) and all the files have been set to be controlled by all users (there is a default "All" group on the iServer). Give all users full control.

Yes i uploaded Configuration files to /Resources/mashboard/QuickStart also gave all previlages at folder level as well as file level.

What does your application environment look like? Can you post the environment specific changes you made to web.xml? I am looking for the following context parameter values: 
 
<ul class='bbc'><li>SERVER_DEFAULT</li><li>DEFAULT_VOLUME</li><li>DEFAULT_MASHBOARD_PROJECT</li></ul>
 
Seeing those values should show me enough to get this ironed out.

I do not need to see the whole web.xml. What you pasted in is good. 
 
For the DEFAULT_VOLUME variable, does the value match the Volume name where you uploaded the content and configuration files? 
 
I still feel like there could be a permissions issue here. Can you log onto iServer Management Console and double-check the file permissions for all the config files under Resources/mashboard/QuickStart. Also make sure the path matches exactly, both in Case and spelling. The permissions should be set to match the attached thumbnail. You can easily edit permissions for multiple files by checking them in Management Console and looking at their "Properties".

I cross checked, all the permission is given properly.

What I suspect is that Resources Folder.

I have created ' Resources > mashboard > QuickStart' in the Files & Folder.
And then uploaded QuickStart_default.mashconfig and dashboard.projectconfig and other config files.

And then i specified Resource folder as '/Resources' under volume tab.

is this correct?

The Resources folder should have already existed. Was it not there by default? Did you create a new volume to use the Mashboard? If you did, that is fine, but it may change the configuration a bit.

By the way, if you did create a new volume, and then had to define the Resources folder, you will need to do a FULL re-start of the iServer to have that setting loaded properly. 
 
Also, if you created a new volume, and it is named something other than itevm225.wisdom.siac.com which it likely is if you added it after install, than you will need to change the target volume on the login page. Underneath the User Name and Password text boxes, you will see a link called "Show Login Options". Click this link and make sure the Volume you uploaded the configuration files to is the volume selected in the drop-down. If it is not the one selected, choose it and try to log in.

No, Resource folder was not already existed. Recently I have installed Enterprise iServer v10 on linux m/c. I also raised a case with Actuate support saying Resource folder is not created after fresh iserver instal. they suggested to create this folder manualy. so i created manually under file and folder and specified '/Resource' as a resource folder in vol tab.

Also I have not created additional volume. i have only 1 vol in my iServer.

What version of Linux are you running?

Also, can you go into mgmt console and navigate to /Resources/mashboard/QuickStart and take a screen shot of that screen? I would like to have a look. Zip the screen shot and attach it to the thread.
