Exporting Chart and table to Excel

Hi,

Are there any example of how I can export a report which contains a chart and a table to MS Excel?

The chart only needs to be an image. When I use the BIRT designer the table is exported properly to MS Excel but the chart isn't exported at all. I tried the third party xls emitter and it exports the chart as an image fine but it does terrible things to the layout of the table and the rest of the report.

How can I export both a chart image and a table to MS Excel?

There is an issue with getting the image in the xml xls type output that BIRT uses. See the following bug:<br />

As of the latest milestone release of BIRT 2.5, xls output does not display charts. According to the bug I posted in here, the fix is still set to "future", there is no version selected yet. So, I'm assuming it will not be solved by 2.5's release. If I hear differently, I'll post in here.
