Issues with installation of own plugins in birt runtime on tomcat

Hai all,

I have made an nice little plugin to clean up HTML it works great inside eclipse but when I use the tomcat installation I can get the plugin to work.

I have put the Jar file all of the place but no luck

Where do I need to put the jar file and also do I need to configure something to get it to work?

Where are you putting the plugin and what extension does it implement?

It only does a clean up of HTML (it is called BirtHTMLUtil.cleanHTML(someHTML)) it work great within eclipse.
I have put the jar in: TomCat 6.0/lib, birt-viewer/WEB-INF/lib and birt-viewer/WEB-INF/platform/plugins/

I am calling it from the javascript by calling the classname.function name

Like this:

BirtHTMLUtil.cleanHTML(row["description"])

Where are you putting it in the designer to make it work.

All the jar locations require the jar to be a normal jar. If this is a plugin the only way it will be found is if you put it in the plugins directory and something specifically loads it. For example in script I can load the viewer plugin to get at a specific class like:

importPackage(Packages.org.eclipse.core.runtime);
mybundle = Platform.getBundle("org.eclipse.birt.report.viewer");
mc = mybundle.loadClass( "org.eclipse.birt.report.viewer.utilities.WebViewer");
mi = mc.newInstance();
xyz = mi.getCurrentWebApp().getName();

The same code should work in the expression builder.
