i am sorry for my stupid question but i just want some pointer to write a datarow type custom element.

i am totally unknown how datarow replicate it for different records in report in a single page.

I have not personally created a custom datarow type item. Since you said you are trying create something like a custom table or list type control, maybe you could download the BIRT Source code and look at how those controls were implemented. hi Virgil,

One more question. i have posted twice on the forum but no one replied. Is it possible to extend existing report item. i.e adding some new properties to an existing report item.

also from legal point of view is it allow to enhance the existing item.
i am new in s/w industry and dont know much about this. will be grateful if any pointers can given on this.

I have not created a custom report item... I did find another resource that someone else created a few years ago that should still apply

As for extending an existing item, I just don't know. You could start modifying the table borders after looking at the source code and see what happens.

As for the legal question, generally, the EPL license is pretty flexible and allows you to change what you want... but you should read the full license at <a class='bbc_url' href='http://wiki.eclipse.org/EPL'>Eclipse Public License - Eclipsepedia</a>
