Encodepassword Feature

Just out of curiousity - has anyone else experienced that fact that using the new encodepassword feature in DD 5.6 it encodes the passwords with the same password each time -We run the command below on two different database.xml files one on development and one on staging and the same password sequence is generated? Is this a bug? Is their some setting I'm not aware I need to reset somewhere? We've tried running iwreset -a and even manually stopping and starting the DD service

iwsyncdb.ipl -encodepassword

\iw-home\Interwoven\DataDeploy\conf\database.xml

Is the password same on both the database.xml files??

Actually, they are the same password - however when we first ran the encode - we got a different password generated

I was more curious - if the passwords were random but I guess they are based on a sequence given the structure of the letters?

To confuse matters worse - the first time we ran the encode it didn't work - but then we ran the decode and that gave us a different sequence then what we have now and it turns out, the sequence had a &amp it in so it was throwing us XML errors

Did you get xml errors when you had the character & in password during encode ?
can you post more details so that we can file a bug or report it to support.
