Do we need to buy different licenses for development and production?

You'll probably have to talk to your sales rep for specific details, but in my case, we bought 1 "Unlimited CPU" license, 1 "Stand-by server" license, and 1 "TeamSite Development Server".
The Dev license was 50% cheaper than the unlimited CPU primary license. The stand-by server was 75% cheaper than the unlimited CPU primary license.
But like I said, if you don't have a copy of your contract in front of you, I'd bring it up with IW sales.

Hmmm, these licences... I wish there were clear definitions and costs posted on this site, so we are not left at the mercy of IW's sales reps. What Tom said is interesting, he mentions some other licence possibilities. Can someone advise me on the following:
We have 1 solaris TS server, which is really the only one we need fulltime, and which is covered by a TeamSite licence (£40,000). Now, I want a second solaris server for backup purposes - it would have TS installed, but generally would not have content. Its purpose in life would be to recover backups of the main TS server (to get back stuff quickly without downing the main server) and to act as an emergency TS server should the main TS server die (i.e recover content to here and point OD scripts to webserver).
What licence should we get for this second server? Obviously we're looking to save costs here, we don't want to buy another full TS licence for something that is going to be idle most of the time. What are the options?
Thanks for your help

If you have an unused production license, you can use it for your development server. If not, we offer a Developer Suite license that allows you to duplicate your production IWOV software in a separate development-only environment. It also allows you to set up a cold standby server, and provides one copy of TeamCode and access to our ContentServices SDK. The Developer license is less expensive than the TeamSite server license. Your sales rep can provide you with pricing.
