Workflow FileList Deployment

I have a workflow that called an external task (.ipl file) to deploy a File List. The .ipl file contains the following code to deploy the filelist but it does not seem to work. Am I using the correct syntax to call the deployment. Is the syntax wrong?

There is a particular syntax you need to use in the deployment config to perform a filelist deployment. It's an element within the <sourceFilesystem> tag called "filelist". You would build your filelist and save it in a file. Then you would set up the "filelist" element as a parameter substitution (you'll find that in the OD manual) and us the "-k" option for iwodstart. It's all done on the command line - I don't believe it's possible anymore to use a pipe like it was in the old version of OD.

nope, you are correct, no pipes. though if you are doing this all from a workflow then building a filelist should be trivial. the temp file list and -k is the way to go.

yeah, check out <iw-home>/local/config/wft/solutions/author_submit_with_deploy.wft and the accompanying script on TS5.5.2.

There are probably others out there in the same directory (or in other examples). This specific workflow is meant to be used by authors to submit files and then have them deployed. It script that does the deployment builds a file list based on the files attached to the workflow.

Your deployment config should have something like this in it:

<sourceFilesystem area="/default/main/intranet/****/STAGING" filelist="$filelst^">

Then your command line will look something like this:

/interwoven/opendeploy/OpenDeployNG/bin/iwodstart "ZERO_deploy" -k filelst="/tmp/file_list.txt"

This will substitute the value assigned to filelst into the variable $filelst^ you embedded in your deployment config.

Hi,

I tried the filelist attribute and then used the iwodstart command as you mentioned.
However the output is an error stating : Error in processing deployment config file.
I checked the config file(under ODhome/conf),the file contains well formed xml.
Any clue what might be wrong or am I missing something?

Without seeing the actual deployment config file you are trying to use - and the exact command line you are trying to invoke it with, it is rather difficult to provide any kind of diagnosis of your problem.
