Borders while Exporting to WORD

Hi,

We are trying not to show the borders for the tables and grids in the reports.
But with no border they are not shown in Viewer but when we export it to Word all the borders are still shown.
Is there a simple way to hide it.
When we make the border color as white for the cells .
Can we create a Style or is there a way to hide the borders even in WORD exports.

Hi Rachna,

Can you create a report with the sample database that shows what you're talking about? When I export a report with a table into Word, I don't see any borders. The crosstab has them, but the regular table does not. What version of BIRT are you using?

When you view the Word file? Do you see borders or no borders? I see none.

I see it :-) I just showed the same file to my colleagure too..
Which WORD version are you using , could that be the difference ?
WE have ver 2003 here.

We just figured out when you click HIDE Gridlines under Table dropdown..

I was going to ask if you were using 2003. I'm using 2007.

So, it works if you choose to hide the gridlines in Word?

Yes you are right it was 2003 and with hide Gridlines it didnt show the border...

Is there a way we can disable the Gridlines by default when exporting to WORD ? i.e. the user should not need to click on Hide Gridlines manually.

Rachna,

I'm guessing that that's a default table setting in Word 2003 that you won't be able to change through BIRT. I could be wrong though. If I find out differently, I'll let you know in here.

Hi Michael

We have the reports with the company logo , they are successfully exported to WORD. We all have Word 2003. But somehow couple of users get error for the exported Image in WORD..
Could there be some specific reason or setting which could cause the error for the image while exporting to WORD.

This is kind of critical issue, any help is appreciated.
