Pie chart rendering
kevinroll
I desire to put several pie charts in a vertical column. It seems that BIRT takes the category labels around the pie into consideration when laying out the chart as the pies do not come out the same size, even though the overall charts are identical in size. Is there any way to force the pies to be equal, or am I stuck with this behavior?
Also, it seems there are controls for line thicknesses all over the place, but I don't see one for the lines between the pie slices. Is this controllable?

Hi kevinroll,
Can you create a report with this setup using the sample database? This way I can see it for myself. What version of BIRT are you using?

Sure thing. I'm using BIRT Framework 2.5.0.v20090603. The attached report approximates what I'm looking at. Note that the two pie charts are sized exactly the same (in fact, the second is a copy of the first with the data changed). Because the first has many more labels, the area of the pie ends up much smaller. The smaller the overall area of the chart, the more this is an issue. My boss doesn't want the charts to take up too much space or I would make them larger. We also don't want to use a legend because our real report has a set of similar colors that would be confusing. That was the reason for my question about the dividers - if I could make the white space between the slices a bit larger it would help to visually divide the slices better on my chart.
