Using Excel as Data Source

I am trying to get a complete cycle of creating and deploying a report using Actuate BIRT. How do we access an Excel file to create a data source in Actuate BIRT?

The easiest way is to use the JDBC/ODBC driver included with BIRT, and create an ODBC datasource off of the Excel file.

I have created an ODBC connection for Excel source. There is no Excel JDBC available in Actuate off the hand. How do we use ODBC connection we just created withing Actuate?
