I am using Liferay 5.2.3 with Tomcat 6 bundled. I have been asked to create a portlet which can be used within Liferay to view multiple BIRT reports at one time in a dashboard style format.<br />

I have looked at the example for building a portlet for BIRT (<a class='bbc_url' href='
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Portlet_Example_(BIRT)_2.1'>Portlet Example (BIRT) 2.1 - Eclipsepedia</a>) but is this still valid? I am trying to compile the .java files but I think the newer BIRT version may have a different directory structure as the import statments are failing.<br />

I am fairly new to java so any help would be great. If someone can point me towards some documentation for an up to date portlet example I would very much appreciate it.<br />
