Problem with Canvas

Hi,
I have problems with the Mashboard-Content. I can add some portlets dynamicly in the Quickstart-Application under MyDashboard-Tab. After selecting another tab and changing back to MyDashboard my changes are lost. I know the functionality from Version9, here is the individual configuration of each user saved and each user can define his own Dashboard-Configuration.
What do I have to do to configure to solve this problem? How can I save the users configuration ? Can anyone help ?

Are you logging in as a specific user or just the system Administrator? If you are using Administrator, please configure a specific Mashboard user (assign them rights on the Mashboard Resources and content) and then attempt to modify a canvas.

Hi Brian,
thanks for your post.
I tested this also as specific user, but there is the same problem, after leaving a dashboard-tab and go back he has everytime the standard-configuration, my changes were not saved.
Any other ideas ?

If you look at the navItem configuration (in the mashconfig file) you are probably hitting a tab that has a global canvas define (anything with canvasName= in the URL). These need to have <strong class='bbc'><em class='bbc'>canvasType=user</em></strong> explicitly set. This will create a user-specific copy of the canvas on the iServer and the user's changes will be saved from session to session. Setting the navItem to <em class='bbc'>canvasType=global</em> makes the canvas static and the changes are not saved session to session.<br />

Can you check this setting and see if it resolves your issue.

I have checked and tested this.
In my mashconfig-file I changed the canvasType to "user".
But this has no effect. The configuration is not saved, every time I logged in with a specific user I get a blank dashboard.
Attached you find my mashconfig-file. I hope, this will help you. (I was testing with navitem "nav4" - 2nd tab in my file)

Sorry for the delay in answering. What user are you logging into the application as? If you are logging in simply as "Administrator" please create a different user. Canvas configurations cannot be saved against the "Administrator" profile on the iServer.
Let me know if this was indeed the issue.

Hello Brian,
yes, I tested with a similar user, not with the admin-user. This can't be the reason, my user has only "normal" rights, no admin role or so.
I don't know, what I can do also.
