How to remove place holders in in Cross Tab Reports ?

Hi,

In BIRT Cross Tab Reports, I need to completely remove some columns (not just to hide, but also to remove the columns from the report) on a conditional basis (depending on some report parameters). I was successful in hiding part. But in my current report I get a blank space where cells were present. In BIRT is there any way to remove the place holders in Cross Tab Reports on a conditional basis ?

Hi Michael,

My requirement is some thing like this.

The coulmn it self (not only the column vlaues) that need to be shown in the final report is based on a check box value (check box is present in ui part). So in the report the data column (and its corresponding label header) should be shown/hide conditionally. When I hide the label header and data column the place holders is still there(though it is blank cells). Could you advise any method in birt where we can remove the place holders.

So, the user selects a parameter that decides whether to show a certain column's values or not? Is this correct? If so, if you just filtered your data based on this parameter to not include this data, the crosstab section would never be created. Let me know.
