encryption method for connection profile files

Hey,

We are using the Birt Web Viewer to run reports.

We are using a connection profile to specifiy the database connection.

The connection profile file is written by another application (PHP), which provides individual database settings.

Birt provides the feature to encrypt connection profile files ("Encrypt file content" in Connection Profile store creation dialogue).

The question:
Which kind of encryption method does Birt use to encrypt the files?
I'd like to make our PHP-application encrypt the profile file. But the Birt runtime has to read the file. So, which encryption method do I have to apply, so that Birt can read the file?

Hello everybody,

I'd like to ask once again:

When connection profiles are externalized to a profile store, the user has the possibility to choose "Encrypt file content". When doing so, the Birt Designer encrypts the connection details in the profile file.
Does anyone know, which encryption method is used?
