BIRT 2.5 on JDK 1.4?
Jikes
Hi,
I am very excited about BIRT 2.5, and the latest version solves some of the problems that BIRT 2.3.2 had w.r.t PDF's with large number of pages not created correctly, pagination problems, etc. I am very much wanting to use BIRT 2.5, but can't because it's not supported on JDK 1.4, and I have a limitation of using JDK1.4 for my project.
I'm sure there are lots of projects out there running on JDK 1.4, and hence Eclipse should have created BIRT to be compatible with JDK 1.4. Is the support for JDK 1.4 completely taken away in all future versions of BIRT?
Thanks,

Hi Jikes,
I'm pretty sure Eclipse started requiring JDK 1.5 back in BIRT 2.3 or even possibly 2.2.x sometime. What was the last version you were using with JDK 1.4?

Looks like 2.2.2 could support 1.4 or 1.5, but as of the 2.3 release, 1.5 or 1.6 was required.

Yes, 2.2.2 supports JDK 1.4, but it has few bugs and tehre are advanced features in higher versions which i'm interested in using, but can't due to JDK incompatibility!
