BIRT API which calculates the row width in pixels by reading Font details

Is there any BIRT API which takes Font details (name, size etc.) and calculates the row width in pixels or can we do it by writing our own function/method?

Please suggest something, since this is very very urgent for me.

please refer the attached pdf file in which i just wants to display the record-5 and then onwards in the second column of the first page itself.
