Hyperlink in Charts
rahulkjha
Hi
I am having a bar chart, or line chart, with list of the facts displayed on Y-axis, and a single dimension on X-axis. Can we create a hyperlink for X-axis elements? My idea is to drill down from a higher level to lower level, opening a new report with a chart. Say, currently we are at Month level (on X-axis) e.g. Apr '09, May '09...so on. Now we want to see detailed data for Apr '09 for each of its dates when there was a transaction.
Please let me know how can implement the above drill down requirement.
Thanks,
Rahul

Hi Rahul,
Check out the following reports. The summary report is the one you'd run first. Then, whichever bar you click on, a new report detailing that month is opened. Hope this helps. These reports were made in BIRT 2.3.2.2.

Thanks Michael for your response.
Yes, it happens in case we use normal chart. Does it happen in case we use Flash Charts? In Flash Charts, I have seen option to create hyperlinks for the elements on Y-axis, but not for the elements on X-axis. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Rahul

Rahul,
What version of BIRT are you using? Actuate 10?

Michael,
Yes. I am using Actuate 10.
Thanks,

Rahul,
Here's the same reports, only in Actuate 10 with flash charts. The interactivity is on the value series like on the other ones I posted.

Can't we create a hyperlink on the x-axis labels instead of creating a drill-down on the value(Y) series?

Hi mukulobj,
What version of BIRT are you using? I'll have to take a look.
