What plugins can I safely remove

I already have one question on the correct plugins directory Platfor or ReportEngine.

But within the plugins directory I am guessing there should be many that I could actually remove.

Is there anywhere that says what each plugin is for.

For example
I make no calls to the database directly. I go through a java class via a event handler.

So can I remove the
org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_2.3.1.v20080827 directory

I don't want or need derby support can I remove the
org.apache.derby.core_10.3.1.4


What are the others for what can I delete .
