Which product should I use?

Hi,

I want to create interactive dashboards, so far I have downloaded BIRT Report Designer Professional 10 and the iServer Express. On the report designer I'm able to create reports, but in the iServer there are dashboard examples, I just take the dashboard example file which is an .rptdocument to explore, but I'm not able to 'read' edit this file on the Designer, seems to work only with .rptdesign files... so which product I suppose to use to create dashboards? and from where can I donwload a tutorial that explain the process? I just get lost from the extense product offering on the download page.

Its been a little while since I've worked with iServer since I focus more on the open source implementations, but it works something like this.

You create your reports in the BIRT Report Designer. When you call the report in iServer, you tell it to render what is called a Reportlet, which is either a whole report, or portion of a report, returned as a small snippet of HTML. You embed that HTML with other reportlets to create your dashboard. You can also create whole reports that are dashboards and link the elements of other reports.
