Report within of a time range, what would you do?

Hi,

I would like to create a report within of a time range.

The goal is calling of count queries of products.

The time range should be typed in through parameters:

for example:
- start date: 11.05.2009 11:32
- end date: 11.08.2009 11:32

---

the report should show:

date: 11.05 - 01.06
count: 35
date: 01.06. - 01.07.
count: 12
date: 01.07. - 01.08.
count: 55
date: 01.08 - 11.08
count: 9

---

The time range should be variable.

If the user types in:
- start date: 11.02.2009 11:32
- end date: 11.08.2009 11:32

The result should be changed.

Has anybody an idea how I can solute the problem? Or has anybody
a link which could help me?

Please experts help me, i am fighting with that topic since some days.

Ah i forgot to ask, is it generally realizable in BIRT?

I am looking for a solution since more than 1 week, i have looked all rptdesign examples and unfortunately i haven´t found no way.
