2 hyperlinks
rahulkjha
Hi
Is it possible to have 2 hyperlinks from the same data element. e.g. my my product summary report displays a list with all the facts and a dimension Product. When the user drill downs from any values for Product to get its details, he should have 2 alternate drill down paths, 1. to get Customer details 2. to get details by Transaction Dates. Is it doable?
Regards,
Rahul

Hi Rahul,
Are you talking in a table or a crosstab? I don't know that you can set up a double drill through on a single data item, but you could have a column right next to the data item that has two text elements or something in it that you create drill downs on, one for each drill down you're wanting to do. This would give the user the option of what they want to see. This option may depend on your setup, I have not tried it yet. Let me know if you have questions.

Michael,
Attached is the text file (forum did not allow to upload excel file). It is having 3 sheets, 1 for ProductSummary and then 1 each for Details by Customer and Details by Date.
Here is what I am looking for:
When, on ProductSummary sheet, if a user clicks on, say, Butter, he should receive a pop-up window displaying 2 paths to both the details, Customer and Date. Then he chooses one of them and gets down to the details by customer or date. The report heading will show- Product: Butter
Please let me know if you need more info on this.
Regards,
Rahul

Rahul,
Check out this example. Save all three to you workspace and run the summary report. It has a column called "detail" with labels of "Customer Detail" and "Date Detail" that have drill throughs on them to sub reports for the appropriate detail. Hope this helps.
These were designed in BIRT 2.3.2.2.
