Formatting a Data Set Column before displaying

Hi

I need a help regarding how to format a Data Set column before displaying in the report.
ie when i submit the JSP , value in the Data set for example will be like
/TEST100001 . When displaying in the report (pdf format) i want to display tha value as TEST100001.

Please advice , how can i achieve this .
