Copy elements from Library to edit them with DEAPI

Hello everyone. I'm new to BIRT.
I hope you guys don't leave me alone

I'm using my mylib.rptlibrary to store Grids which contain datasets.
My problem is that my Datasource is dynamic.
Libraries are not editable. So the only approach, as far as I can see, would be copying the elements (Grids with Datasets) from the Library and then assign a new Datasource to these Datasets... Am I right???
If so, could someone give me clue???? I'm really pressured to make this as soon as possible......... please help me!
