Fold-Out Tables in a Report (by Categories)

Hi and than you for reading,

I am looking for a "fold-out" possibility in a report.
What I want to do is to create a report, with the total amount of orders per year. Then when you click on a specific year, it unfolds and shows the amount of orders for each month of this year, then you can click on a month and it shows the orders per week.

I was trying to find an example or some hints, but without success.
As always an example is very helpful, however thank you for any help.

Are you talking about expanding and collapsing within a single report? Or is drilling down to another report acceptable for you?

BIRT doesn't have this capability out of the box. With Actuate Interactive Viewer, you can expand and collapse groups. This is built with the BIRT API's, so it would be possible for you to build your own viewer with these features, but it would probably take a lot of work. Your best bet would probably just to do drill through type reports to the detail you're looking for.
