Problem with ostream

kjackson

Hi,
I am trying to use ostream to generate a formatted html file and a print friendly html of the same content. The shared content appears within a cell in an outer table in both output files.

I have created an ostream with buffer set to buffRepContent which contains the shared content. I have then tried to use my $repContent = iwpt_get_osream_data("buffRepContent") to create a variable that I can then output into the appropriate spot in the formatted file (which is the standard output of the tpl) and the print version (which is another ostream within the tpl).

When I preview the output, I get the formatted html but no shared content in the appropriate cell. When I try to generate the page I get an error saying "Not a valid extension. Valid extension for default.tpl is: html"

I was also trying to set the name of the print file using iwpt_get_dcr_name(basename). I thought this might be the problem so I set the filename explicitly and got the same result.

I would appreciate any suggestions you might have. I have attached the tpl in question. We are running TS5.5.2 on Solaris.

Thanks,
Kerryn

I think you need to change line 29 from:

  my $repContent = iwpt_get_ostream_data('$buffRepContent');

to:

  my $repContent = iwpt_get_ostream_data('buffRepContent');

(remove the $ from the parameter)

Also, around line 87 (bold line) - you appear to have an extraneous close-tag which should be removed.

    <iw_if expn="{iw_value name='dcr.contPageInfo.navRequired' /} eq 'yes' ">
      <iw_then>
        <td width="150" valign="top">
          <!--#include virtual="/lib/navigation.shtml"-->
      </iw_then>
      <iw_else>
        <td width="1" valign="top">
          &nbsp;
      </iw_else>
    </iw_if>
  </td>
  </tr>
</table>

I'd suggest removing that - and then seeing if those changes fix your problem(s).
