How to change session timeout?
dianbo
Hi,
I use jsapi to access reports deployed on iServer Express 10 sp1.
i modified the parameter login_timeout in the file $actuate_home/iserver/servletcontainer/iportalWEB-INF/web.xml and set its value to 43200. but it still pops up the window showing session timeout information after a while.
Any suggestions for this, thanks.
Dianbo

Did you restart your app or app server after making the change?
43200 is 12 hours. Can you be more specific than "after a while"? How long before you see the session timeout?

Hi Rob,

I modified the time_out parameter again and restarted the iserver, and it is ok now. Now the question is do you think 12 hours is too long and if it will cause high memory usage?
Thanks.
The session timeout will not impact memory usage of the iServer. Any impact on the app server which is running the Information Console (the web interface to the iServer) would likely be minimal.
