Cross Tab Design Problem

Hi,

I'm trying to produce the attached cross tab report using the following data:

Outlet, Date

Community 2ME,
Community 2NBC, 27/08/2009
Community 2SSR, 27/08/2009
Community Other,
Community PVR,
Community Radio 50+,
Community WOW FM,
Metropolitan 2SM, 27/08/2009
Metropolitan 2UE, 27/08/2009
Metropolitan 702 ABC,
Metropolitan ABC Radio,
Metropolitan Channel 10,
Metropolitan Channel 7,
Metropolitan Channel 9,
Metropolitan Daily Telegraph,
Metropolitan NOVA,
Metropolitan Other,
Metropolitan SMH,
Metropolitan Today Show,
Metropolitan Vega FM,
Regional ABC Mid North Coast,
Regional ABC Newcastle,
Regional KO FM, 27/08/2009
Regional Other,

However, when I try I end up with a cross tab with problems: the first row and column have zeros and shouldn't appear. See cross tab with problems attachment.

I'm using BIRT 2.3.2

Can anyone help Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

No need for further info. Sorry for the delay. I just got to this. The reason for the extra column and row with 0's in them is because of the unassociated values that you have in the report for dimensions. BIRT has to include some sort of measure for them to display them. With some quick changes in visibility, I was able to get the following report. It's not perfect, but a few changes with borders may be able to get rid of the double lines.

Is there anyway of translating the 8 (ie the 8th month of the year) at the top of the cross tab to it's corresponding name: August in BIRT? See attachment.

Stuart,

Normally, you should be able to select the "month" data element and go to the dataTime format section in the property editor and enter a custom format of MMMM. This doesn't seem to be working in this case though, possibly because of the 0 value. You can also do the following for all possibilities:

if (this.getValue() == 8){
this.setDisplayValue("August");
}

Hi Michael,

I changed the month crosstab dimension binding to dimension["Group2"]["month"]["DateTime"]

And then set the date format to MMMM yyyy

And this now works.
