Page Count value

Based on the grouping i need the page number on master page
Suppose if first group has 2 pages we need the count like 1,2. and then for the next group it need to starts from 1,2....According to the group we need to change the page count.
Help please............If any one knows please reply.

Here there are calculating the count with the help of number of lines in a page.
But if i do like that for my report it creates many promblems . ok.Any other solution for these except the above one, and is it possible for us to get dataset value on pagebreak script.?..

Swathi,

The only footer that's repeated on each page is the master page footer. You won't be able to reset your page number in the master page. To get the page number at the end of each page, you'll have to do something like in the linked devShare post above to get a footer that you can use at the bottom of each page.

Since here we are statistically setting the number of lines in a page.

What is the need for a dynamic number of lines? Can you explain your issue further?

Are your lines not a fixed height?

Actually the data for the output will differ.
Some has 2 lines and some as 3 lines.
So we cant predict the output.
If its possible to calculate the number of lines per page. The problem becomes simpler.

You can set manual page breaks where you'd like by setting the pageBreakBefore or pageBreakAfter manually in script of your detail line based on your own count.

Actually my requirement is ,
whether on birt is it possible to count the number of lines on a particular page.
Im not asking the row count. since data set returnes multiple number of rows with each row of 2 or 3 lines.

So im in need to count the number of lines on a single page.
Is there any option available for that on BIRT?

So, each "row" has multiple lines? Like a long string that spans multiple lines? This is what's causing you issues?

No, I don't think there's anything that will tell you that, but you might be able to determine the amount of lines in your string by the length of the string. Or you could use substrings to break the text where you'd like to know for sure how many lines you'll have.
