Cartesian product of datasets
stuart
Is it possible create a dataset which is the cartesian product of two other datasets in BIRT. My datasets are small ie 30 rows and 10 rows. I need to do this to create the data I need for a datacube -> joins just don't do it for me.
Thanks.

Hi Stuart,
What does the data in your two different dataSets look like? What do you want the final dataSet to look like? Let me know, I'll try to help. Thanks.

Hi Michael,
The datasets relate to the crosstab report and the missing data you rightly mention in another thread. Here are the two data sets that I'm trying to create a cartesian product from:

Hi Michael,
Is this possible via BIRT?
Thanks.

Stuart,
I haven't done this, but you might be able to do this with a scripted dataSource/dataSet. If you call the data in using java/javascript, I would imagine you could pair it however you wanted.

thanks Michael. That is the approach I have taken.
