set value of style from dataset

Is there a way to set the value of a style property directly from a dataset value.

For instance, i want to set the background color of a cell using data found in my dataset which contains a color hex value. is there a way to do this? All i've seen is setting up expression to derive the value of a style property based on contents of the table, but not from the actual dataset itself.

How do you know what cell will get highlighted? Is there a field in the dataSet that has a color for each row?
