Hello all, brand new here, still have my noob gloss on!
I've been put on a project to become the BIRT report designer (taken very literally).
Meaning there is a guy on back end that handles the data that I need, and my primary goal is maybe some data, mostly the actual report display and organization itself, some sorting maybe, etc.
Anyway, I've had a look around (I downloaded the full pack from the eclipse website), and the visual stuff seems pretty self explanatory. Ask for a pie chart, click, get a pie chart, go.
But I'm not impressed with the visual look of the charts/graphs and I'm sure I will get asked about any other options out there. Are there better visuals available? Is it customizable? Some of the charts have a dimension drop down, but only 2D is available.
It seems to be hard to find info focused on the visual display of reports. Lots of info on how to make the report and get the data, but for my specific purpose, my task is to find out the full visual ability.
I have looked over the commercial version. The flash might give me a chance at prettier graphs, but I think we wouldn't have use for any of the other functionality at this time so its hard to recommend at this time.
so uhm... yeah... links? suggestions? advice? Thanks everyone
