Difference between two wfsystem objects
Hazzie
Whats the difference between GetWorkflows() and GetActiveWorkflows() within the TeamSite::WFsystem module.
It was my impression that once a workflow has completed all trace of it within the system is gone. If that is the case i would have thought GetWorkflows would show all currently running workflows. However by the fact that there is a GetActiveWorkflows i am now a little unsure of that assumption (ok assumptions are the mother of all <expletive>). If GetAcitveWorkflows shows the active workflows currently running in TS what does GetWorkflows show. I am sure there is a subtle difference that i am just being to thick to see at the moment.
Cheers,

In most cases you won't find a difference between the two.
When you create a workflow job, the job spec is sent to the workflow engine and the job is "created" in the workflow backing store. After the job has been created, it is "instantiated". This is when the start tasks -- and the job -- become active. Normally these two operations (creation and instantiation) occur one after the other. However, it is possible to create a job without instantiating it (using iwjobc without the -i option). If you do this, the job will exist in GetWorkflows but not in GetActiveWorkflows. You can instantiate or delete the job at a later time.

That explains it all. Thanks.
