Hi,
Is it possible to give users some kind of runtime environment so they can display BIRT -reports without deploying them to an application server?

Hi Gumbel,

One possibility is to just produce PDF, DOC, or HTML output for your BIRT reports and then the user can view them locally.

Another option is to create rptdocument's from your BIRT rptdesign's. The rptdocument is an intermediate format that contains both the layout and data. Then a report viewer (OS WebViewerExample or Actuate BIRT Viewers) can be installed locally on a machine in a tomcat instance without making a connection to your server.
