BIRT on Zend Studio 6

Hi,

I am new to BIRT and trying to install this plugin on top of the Zend Studio 6 for Eclipse I already got.But I get errors saying I need tomcat plugin when I do it via the update manager on Zend Studio.

Can some body plz tell me hw to correct it...If any body have installed BIRT on top of Zend Studio can u plz tell me how to ?

Hi mano, depending on which version of BIRT you are trying to install the depencies are different. If you have chosen 2.5.1, then you can see the list of dependent projects at <a class='bbc_url' href='http://download.eclipse.org/birt/downloads/'>Eclipse BIRT Home</a>. Look at the list beside the Framework button.

thx for the reply.I managed to solve the problem.But i only managed to install BIRT 2.3.1 .But I want to install 2.5.2 which the latest version but the zend studio says no update is available.... 
 
why is this? hw do I do a manual upgrade? eventho BIRT 2.3.1 seems to be working fine on top of ubuntu I am unable to produce any graphs....(preview is OK but the actuall only display the default graph not the one with my dataset) I think itz a problem with Chart Engine...but dont know hw to correct it? 
 
if I think an update wud solve the problem,event then I cant progress as I am back to square one of unable to upgrade. 
 
any thoughts...kindly welcome.

Hi mano, to manually upgrade BIRT, you just download the BIRT framework and copy the files to their respective folders, plugins, features, etc. However, I am not familiar with the BIRT/Zend Studio integration so I don't know if there are other bits of code needed, like BIRT/php wrapper, etc. Have you seen this post at <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.birt-exchange.org/devshare/deploying-birt-reports/743-calling-birt-from-php/#description?'>Calling BIRT From PHP - Designs & Code - BIRT Exchange</a> It shows using BIRT 2.3.1 with PHP but may help with newer versions, too.
