deostroll
Hi I am new to the java world. Does apache tomcat have some in-built capabilities to host birt reports? Or do we have to install them separately...?

Hi deostroll,<br />
<br />
Tomcat can be used to run BIRT reports after you install a BIRT report viewer. You can download the Eclipse BIRT Engine from the link below and deploy the WebViewerExample... but this is an example and will require some development work to customize it.<br />
<br />
Since you said you are new to Java, you may want to consider the iServer Express to deploy your BIRT reports. This will come out of the box with the ability to run BIRT reports and includes scheduling, security, etc., and will require lots less development to integrate BIRT reports with your application. You can download a trial from the same link below.<br />

I've downloaded the all-in-one package which includes the eclipse ide. Does the report engine come along with it? Is report viewer free by any chance...?
