deploying birt on a standalone apache server

Hi,

I just want to know whethr it is possible to deploy BIRT on a apache server running a PHP application without the need of a Tomcat server.

I know of PHP/Java bridge but that would require a Tomcat server as I understand it.

If so,can some one plz explain me hw to.
