Possible to create "traditional" word document ?
Rudi_V
Hi,
I am new to Birt, but as far as i can tell from studying documentation and googling, it seems like Birt is not suited for generating a "traditional" word document with automatically numbered sections and sub-sections and a table of contents in the beginning of the doc (with these section numbers and including page numbers).
Am I missing something ? All info/pointers are very welcome.
kind regards
Rudi

Hi Rudi,
No, BIRT's DOC emitter doesn't set up the word document like this. It just send the layout of your report as is. For the table of contents, you can't get the page number that something is on until the page is created, so having the page numbers at the beginning is not something that can be done at this time. This could be something that could be requested as an enhancement, for a TOC page that is rendered after page numbers are figured and put at the beginning of the report. You can make a request like this at <a class='bbc_url' href='

: Reporting Bugs and Requesting Enhancements.
