I need to create a BIRT report from a RSM Conceptual Data Model in the following hierarchical structure:
Functional Area1
Diagram1 for Functional Area 1
Entity1 for Diagram1
Attributes for Entity1
Associations for Entity1
State Diagram Image
States
Transitions
Entity2 for Diagram1
Attributes for Entity2
Associations for Entity2
State Diagram Image
States
Transitions
Diagram2 for Functional Area 1
Entity1 for Diagram2
Attributes for Entity1

I need any help from past experiences on best design - 1 large table from 1 dataset (many previous joins), or nested tables, or some other way? It seems that if I create different tables, I lose the report structure. Any help or similar examples is very graciously appreciated!!!
