Setting BIRT_VIEWER_DOCUMENT_FOLDER path with websphere variable

Hello,

I currently have BIRT runtime 2.5.1 integrated into a java web application on Websphere 6.1. Due to space limitations with the file system on our server, we require that the full path to the documents folder be set to a separate directory outside of the installed app's default document directory

Also, since we have multiple environments where the application will be deployed, this path will vary and will be tedious to hardcode into the web.xml for the different environments. I tried removing the BIRT_VIEWER_DOCUMENT_FOLDER context parameter in web.xml and setting a websphere variable named BIRT_VIEWER_DOCUMENT_FOLDER in the admin console to the desired path, but it seems BIRT ignores this or considers it null and therefore returns to using the default documents directory.

Does anyone know if BIRT is able to read the BIRT_VIEWER_DOCUMENT_FOLDER path from a websphere variable? Hardcoding the path does work but is not the best solution for me.
