Interchange aggregating columns
evgeny
Hi and thank you for reading,
I would like to create a report, which has a similar structure as the "CrosstabSimpleRevenue.rptdesign" from the examples (attached).
I would have two columns to the right. The year column and the details for quarter.
The functionality, which I would like to realize is the possibility to switch between this two columns. Say, I press a button and the result is that I have "quarter" in the first column, and then the result for this quarter for each year.
Is there a possibility to realize it in a simple manner? Maybe for three or four columns. I am aware that it is possible to create several reports to do so, but am looking for a simpler and more elegant solution.
Thank you in advance!
Evgeny

Hi Evgeny,
If I'm understanding correctly, you could create a crosstab set up in each way you would like, name all of them, and drop the ones you don't need based off of a parameter that would be assigned based on which button was picked. If I'm not understanding this correctly, let me know.

hi mwilliams,
thank you for your reply.
That would be an option, but as far as I am aware, the change of a parameter would cause the report to reload completely, which is equal to the creation of several reports. Is there a way to create such a functionality, so that the change would take effect instantly?

Evgeny,
The only way to change the crosstab would be to rerun the report. When the Actuate 11 line is released next year, there will be a Data Analyzer that will allow for resorting and regrouping of the crosstab. That may be something of interest to you when it comes around.
