how to add columns containing different data types

Hi,

I want to add two columns, one containing the DATETIME datatype and the other is of DATE datatype. i want the addition of these two columnd and had the result in the third column. So is there any functionality provided by the BIRT tool to perform this operation.

If any one have any idea to get through this please help me out.

Can you explain more about what both fields are? This will give me the ability to give a more exact answer on what you need to do. An example of what the two fields' values could be and what you want from the third would also be helpful. Thanks.
