Export Report to Excel Error in Birt 2.5

Hello everyone,
I have office 2007 for my machine. I am having problems while exporting my report from birt viewer to excel, so everytime i preview my report & try to export to excel, it gives me this error :

The file you are trying to open is in different format than specified by the file extension, Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from the trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now? clicking on yes displays the report, but i need to fix this issue. I have attached the error as well.

Does anyone knows how to overcome this issue?
I would appreciate any help!

Hi Dipin,
I´m using BIRT 2.3.2 with tribix emitter for XLS report generation. It´s working fine. Have you tried the tribix emitter version for BIRT 2.5? See sourceforge.net for tribix project. Maybe there you can find some help.

I am new to birt, can you please tell me in more detail for setting up birt to use tribix emitter?
I have downloaded the "xls-emitter-src_2_5.0"(is this the right emitter?) for birt 2.5 as you said...And extracted it here -

and also downloaded the jar file (poi-3.2-FINAL-20081019.jar) under this loc

but its not working

Hi Dipin,

I don´t know much about BIRT 2.5 because I´m using 2.3 version. But for the Birt version that I´m using, Tribix emitter requests that the Birt excel jar file be removed or at least renamed. So, maybe you have to rename or remove org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.emitter.prototype.excel_2.5.1.v20090914.jar of BIRT 2.5. It´s located in the same directory where you copied the tribix emitter.
